Ephesians 1:11 has been called "the strongest and most comprehensive statement about God's absolute sovereignty in the whole of the Bible." A close look at the words Paul uses affirms this position. He leaves no room for exceptions. In the context of the opening doxology of Ephesians, this is intended to be a great comfort to the people of God.
