In Ephesians 1:11, the Apostle Paul assures his readers of their inheritance in Christ because they were predestined for this inheritance by the God who works all things according to the counsel of His will. In the following verse he explains that, although they are hoping in Christ for an inheritance that they do not yet fully possess, they may be assured that they were predestined for this inheritance because they have heard the word of truth, the Gospel of their salvation, and believed in Christ. Their hope is not wishful thinking but a confident expectation based on the promise and character of the Almighty God.
