In John 17:11, while Jesus prays for His disciples, He says, “Holy Father, keep them in your name.” To be kept in God’s name is not only to be kept safe and preserved by the power of God’s name, it also refers to being kept by who God is. We are kept in His mercy, grace, love, holiness and so on.
