In Christ’s intercession, He prays that the disciples would have “His" joy fulfilled in them. Christ’s joy was in the fulfillment of the Father’s will. The Christian’s source of joy is the new life that comes through the revelation of God in His Word. Jesus has manifested the Father’s name and given His people the Word of God that we might experience the joy of God’s salvation in obedience to His Word.
