As Paul continues defending himself against accusations of deceit and impure motives, he assures the saints that he never resorted to manipulation by flattery and was never motivated by greed or a desire for glory. Though, as an apostle of Christ, he had the right to respect and support, he never demanded it. His motives were above and beyond reproach.
