Paul encourages the saints in Thessalonica to be alert and watch for Christ’s return. He tells them of signs that will signal Christ’s arrival. Jesus was barely seated on the throne of heaven before many antichrists began to appear, leading people astray. Such signs have continued to this day keeping the saints of every age in a state of expectation. One day, the saints will witnesses the final apostasy and the revelation of the Antichrist, followed by the Great and Awesome Day of the Lord.
