Opposition forced Paul to leave Thessalonica prematurely. He was concerned for this fledging congregation, born in severe adversity. Were they grounded enough to stand fast? Would they prove to be genuine? Timothy’s report brings Paul much relief. Paul thanks God for their work of Fatih, labor of love, and steadfastness of hope for this is evidence of God’s work in their lives.
