We have been rescued from the kingdom of darkness and made sons of light and sons of the day (Col 1:12-13, 1 Thess 4:5-8). This puts us in conflict with the world. In order to live as alert and sober lives as sons of light, God has given us His armor that we might stand fast as we await the day when Christ returns to consummate the victory He won on the cross.
