The great apostasy and appearance of the Antichrist at the end of history is simply the climax to a cosmic conflict that spans the whole of human history, beginning with humanity’s eviction from Eden. Christ, who in His first coming assured victory by His death and resurrection, will consummate this victory when He is revealed from heaven, killing His enemies with the breath of His mouth.
