Christ's Glorious Return 5/12/2024

The Church of Thessalonica

The language of 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 does not support a “secret rapture” where Jesus covertly whisks His people back to heaven. He comes with a commanding shout, the voice of the archangel and the blast of the trumpet. A straight forward reading of the way both Paul and Peter portray Christ’s coming suggests that the Lord returns at the end of the age to judge the living and the dead and make all things new.
